Jason Prasetyono, a rising fifth-year School of Architecture student from Jakarta, Indonesia, has been selected as the Summer 2026 recipient of the Connie Caldwell Summer Internship Award.

Jason Prasetyono '267 (B.Arch) Jason Prasetyono ’27 (B.Arch) with CookieEstablished in honor of Caldwell, the School of Architecture’s former director of career services, the award assists one full-time architecture student each summer with expenses associated with an internship.

The creation of the award fund was prompted by The deGraffenried Foundation, whose members include School of Architecture alumni Garland deGraffenried ’09 (B.Arch), senior development officer at Continuum Company; Elizabeth Gralton ’08 (M.Arch), principal architect at Gralton DeSilva Architecture & Design; and Jason Renock ’10 (Whitman), director of development and construction at Toll Brothers. The foundation sought a way to continue the impact and passion for supporting architecture students in their career search that Caldwell displayed while at the School of Architecture.

“For many of us, Connie helped ease the transition from school to the workforce. Her commitment to the students and her strong alumni network meant we were often just one Syracuse grad away from a connection and a possible job opportunity,” says Gralton. “I’m grateful that we can honor her with this award and, in a small way, pay it forward.”

The award was selected from a highly competitive pool of applicants representing a wide range of internship opportunities. Prasetyono will receive $7,500 to support a summer internship with Robert A.M. Stern Architects (RAMSA)—an experience that, as Prasetyono notes, “represents an important step in my formation as an architect, allowing me to grow technically and professionally within a leading architectural practice.”

Prasetyono also emphasized how the award will help extend his impact beyond the internship itself. “At the same time, this award supports work that reaches beyond my own experience. Through @thehandsofthelord (HOTL), a platform I started three years ago that now reaches more than 60,000 people, I share the daily life of an architecture student, along with learning resources and model-making processes, with a broader community. It has become a way for me to give back by making architecture feel more accessible, creative, and encouraging for students who are finding their own path.”
