April 13 School of Architecture Professor’s Cultural Laboratory Invited to 61st Venice Biennale Lawrence Chua, associate professor of architectural history in the School of Architecture, is a co-founder of Denniston Hill, a cultural laboratory selected to participate in the 61st International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, opening in May 2026. Curated by the late Koyo Kouoh, the exhibition—titled In Minor Keys—features 111 participants, including 105 individual artists and collectives, as well as six artist-led organizations spanning generations. June 12 School of Architecture Faculty Receive 2026 Graham Foundation Grants As part of their 2026 grant cycle funding ideas to expand architecture and design, the Chicago-based Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts recently announced 54 new grants, totaling $506,000, to individuals, including awards to School of Architecture faculty member Lori A. Brown, FAIA, and to Drawing Architecture Studio (DAS), the collaborative practice led by School of Architecture faculty members Li Han and Hu Yan in partnership with Zhang Xintong. More
