School of Architecture Names Lewis to Advisory Board

The School of Architecture has announced the addition of SaDé Lewis ’15 (B.Arch) to its advisory board.

SaDé Lewis ’15 (B.Arch)SaDé Lewis ’15 (B.Arch)Lewis is a Lead Architect at Pininfarina of America in Miami, Florida, where she works on commercial building project typologies including workplace, multi-family residential, retail, and mixed-use.

Prior to joining Pininfarina of America, Lewis was a Miami-based designer of CallisonRTKL’s commercial office group. While at CRTKL, Lewis was involved in the design and massing studies of the Plaza Coral Gables project, specifically the Loews Coral Gables Hotel, and was the lead designer and project architect of the Lake Nona project. Over the course of her career, she has been involved in all phases of the design process, from concept design and construction documentation and administration to interior design.

Lewis’s affinity for both fashion and design has brought her to also pursue a modeling career. Most recently, she was the brand “face” of Inbodi Swim.

“The time I spent at the School of Architecture was fundamental to my development, not only as an architect but also as a problem solver and an individual,” says Lewis. “The experiences I had during college pushed me further than I ever imagined I could go and laid the foundation for my professional and personal growth. My desire is that every student leaves the University with that same feeling.”

Inspired by her study abroad experiences and in honor of her grandparents, a gift by Lewis in 2023 established the SaDé T. Lewis ’15 Legacy Scholarship at Syracuse University. The scholarship is awarded to third- or fourth-year undergraduate students enrolled in the School of Architecture who are participating in a study abroad program, with preference to students whose background and experiences allow them to bring a diverse perspective to the School.

“We cannot overstate how thrilled we are to welcome SaDé to the School’s advisory board this fall,” says Michael Speaks, dean of the School of Architecture. “She is a brilliant champion for the School and committed to the success of our students, demonstrated by her generosity through scholarship. SaDé and her passion for the profession, global study and the future of Syracuse Architecture, will have a tremendous impact for years to come.”

While at Syracuse, Lewis was a member of the Women’s Track & Field team for five years, where she competed in the 60m hurdles, 100m hurdles and 200-meter dash. She holds a bachelor of architecture degree, graduating cum laude, from Syracuse University and is a registered architect in the State of Florida.

“There are so many wonderful things that the School of Architecture has to offer and I want to help advocate for its continued evolution and advancement in support of the students,” says Lewis. “I am so honored to be a part of the advisory board.”
