S.E. Eisterer

S.E. Eisterer is Assistant Professor of Architectural History and Theory at Princeton University. Before joining the faculty at Princeton, she was an Assistant Professor at the Stuart Weitzman School of Design at the University of Pennsylvania where she was also a member of the Executive Board of the program in Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies at the University of Pennsylvania. S.E. is interested in histories of collectivity, difference, and dissent in architecture. Her scholarly work centers on modern architecture and urban culture with a focus on spatial histories of dissidence and resistance, intersectional feminism, queer theory, and gender studies, as well as environmental history and labor theory. Her work has been published in AggregateArchitectural HistoriesArchitecture Beyond EuropeEdiciones ARQLogPlatform, and other journals. She was the recipient of the Carter Manny Award by the Graham Foundation and the Bruno Zevi Award as well as a Radcliffe Fellowship at Harvard University, the Pearl Resnick Fellowship at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, and a Humboldt Fellowship for Senior Researchers in Germany. She lives and works in Philadelphia.
