Students in the fall 2013 NYC studio taught by visiting critic Lyn Rice (Rice+Lipka Architects) examined a range of contemporary issues surrounding Brooklyn’s EPA Superfund site, the Gowanus Canal, and designed proposals for turning the former decrepit Brooklyn Rapid Transit (BRT) Central Power Station–aka the “Bat Cave”– into an arts and education facility.
