Chong Gu
Instructor

B.Arch, The Cooper Union; M.Arch, Yale University

Chong Gu (b. Zhejiang China, they/he/she) works with migrants, readymades, regulations, and stories. His transdisciplinary process frames diasporic domesticity and internalized trauma. Tracing social, spatial and material constructs of our urbanity, Gu’s work wrestles between axioms and senses, molding rooms for incremental resistance shared amongst heterogeneous communities.

With Audrey Tseng de Melo Fischer, Gu orchestrates Rehearsing, a collaborative relationship dedicated to framing otherness and narrating indigeneity.

A MacDowell fellow, Gu holds a B.Arch from the Cooper Union and a M.Arch from Yale University.
