Fall 2014 visiting critic Jill Leckner is a registered Architect in the State of New York and a LEED Accredited Professional Architect. She received her Master of Architecture in 1995 from Columbia University and her Bachelor of Architecture in 1993 from Ball State University.
In 2004, she co-founded SLAB Architecture PLLC with Jeffrey Johnson, a research-based multidisciplinary design practice located in Brooklyn, New York. Leckner has built a diverse range of projects including the First Financial Offices in Indiana, the trading floor upgrades at the New York Stock Exchange, new offices for the World Science Festival and Antheus Capital and most recently the award winning Red Bull Music Academy and Headquarters in Chelsea in collaboration with INABA.
The office continues to expand its practice with recently completed projects in China including the new Weifang Science and Technology University Master Plan in Weifang China in collaboration with a team of global design offices.
Prior to SLAB, Jill Leckner worked for Christian Hubert Studio from 1998 to 1999 as the project architect on the museum wide exhibition ‘The American Century: Art & Culture 1950-2000’ at the Whitney Museum of Art and on the Leo Castelli Gallery. From 2002 until 2006, she worked for Asymptote during which time she was project architect for several internationally recognized projects including the 9th International Architecture Exhibition at the Venice Biennale, the Carlos Miele Flagship, and the Guggenheim Guadalajara Museum Competition.
