Master of Architecture, Yale University; Bachelor of Engineering, South China University of Technology

Anjiang Xu reviews architectural ownership across a building’s lifecycle, focusing on the evolving socio-ecological belonging of its materials, forms, and labor that gives it life. She co-initiated Studio Trip, a collective that invites sharing and commoning by researching, designing, and building with found materials.

Currently a part-time instructor at Syracuse Architecture, Xu has taught as a teaching fellow at Yale Architecture and as a guest critic both at Yale and at Lehigh University. Her co-authored article, “Another House Deconstructed,” was published in Thresholds, with a sequel exhibition, “Home, Sweet Home,” held at Yale Architecture North Gallery. Xu’s research papers were published in Buildings, Art & Design, and Architectural Journal. She presented as a keynote speaker at the NESAH Annual Conference, Shanghai International Interior Design Week, and on national mass media.

Xu has worked in Shenzhen, Berlin, Copenhagen, and New Haven for firms including Sauerbruch Hutton Architects, BIG, and Gray Organschi Architecture. She co-led and built a housing project LONG-PLAN, which received the Championship of Solar Decathlon China and the WA Chinese Architectural Award.
