Ahearn Workshop

February 28

Patrick Ahearn, FAIA, will be holding an in-person workshop, open only to current students, on Wednesday, February 28. RSVP through Handshake if you’d like to attend.

Patrick specializes in historically motivated architecture and interior design. Over the past 40 years, he has produced an impressive body of finely crafted and detailed residential work that ranges across a multitude of classic styles and typologies, from City Town Houses to Island Homes.

Join Patrick as he presents a full-scope case study on the design and development of a modern family homestead created by his firm on eleven acres at Martha’s Vineyard. After reviewing the existing site conditions, Patrick will walk you through the design and development process his office followed, including interior and exterior design concept development, client feedback, final construction details and required approvals.

Patrick will then lead a design charette in which you will develop your own solutions based on the knowledge obtained throughout the case study presentation and conversation. This is a great opportunity to work in tandem with an industry leader and identify solutions to real-world project challenges and opportunities.

The Ahearn Workshops are made possible by a gift from Patrick Ahearn ’73, G’73, member of the School of Architecture Advisory Board and Syracuse University Trustee.
