Projective Geologies
Architecture is geological. From the extraction of raw materials to the restructuring of the ground, the built environment churns through the matters and materials of the Earth. Yet from within these troubled strata, the geological also offers alternative toolkits for developing new sensibilities of time and terrain. Through a survey of recent work by HOME-OFFICE, this lecture frames the geological as a projective site for the architectural imagination, one that structures new environmental, technical, and climatic relations for the Anthropocene.
