Oana Stănescu


Oana Stănescu is a Romanian architect with a broad ranging practice. Her eponymous studio encompasses projects in North America, Asia and Europe such as the Funicular; the transformation of a 500m long industrial ruin into public infrastructure, and an ensemble of 6 footbridges in Resita, Romania. She has worked on commercial projects like the Off White galleries in Hong Kong, Singapore and New York; the Yeezy offices in Los Angeles; installations such as Fresa at Concentrico, Spain; Mutts for Coachella Festival, California; and Seriously Fun for MoMA PS1, New York; as well as residential projects in Toronto, Cannes and Los Angeles.

Stănescu was the curator of the 2024 Beta Biennial in Timișoara and the 2024 S. Charles Lee Chair in Architecture and Urban Design at UCLA. She has taught and lectured at Harvard GSD, MIT, Columbia GSAPP, U.S., Architectural Association, U.K., and EPFL, Switzerland amongst others. She lives with her dog Perry, in Berlin and New York.
