Paul C. Auguste ’94, AIA, NOMA, is a prominent architect based in New York City, currently serving as Director of Aviation + Transportation at HOK a global design, architecture, engineering and planning firm with 1,750 employees across a network of 27 offices on three continents. Auguste is also a member of HOK’s global board of directors.
As Director of HOK’s Aviation + Transportation group, Auguste leads multidisciplinary teams providing architectural and engineering services from design through construction. He manages large, technically complex projects with critical construction, phasing and operational requirements.
Auguste was HOK’s design manager for LaGuardia Airport’s $5.1 billion new Terminal B project, the largest public-private partnership in U.S. aviation history. The design features 60-foot-high ceilings and expansive windows that ensure arriving and departing passengers enjoy plenty of natural light. Indoor green spaces throughout the terminal echo NYC’s iconic pocket parks. Opened in 2022, LaGuardia has been named the best U.S. airport for the second consecutive year by Forbes Travel Guide’s Verified Travel Awards in 2025. LaGuardia also won Skytrax’s 2023 World’s Best New Airport Award and UNESCO’s 2021 Prix Versailles Award. HOK’s work has been named to Fast Company’s 2022 list of Most Innovative Companies and TIME Magazine’s 2022 list of Most Influential Companies for the design of Terminal B.
In addition to the LaGuardia project, Auguste’s experience extends to terminal projects at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD).
Auguste is an active advocate for increasing diversity within the architectural profession and has focused on creating pathways for underrepresented groups and supporting minority-owned businesses. As a member of the board of the ACE (Architecture, Construction and Engineering) Mentor Program, he has mentored high school students to encourage careers in the design and construction industries. Additionally, in his professional practice, he actively works to include Minority- and Women-Owned Business Enterprises (MBE/WBE) in his projects, exceeding standard requirements to help grow the talent pool in the aviation sector.
