Lily Chishan Wong is a practicing architect and assistant professor at the University of Miami in Florida whose work engages plant and mineral lives as interlocutors for design projects. Her research, practice, and teaching are devoted to the urgencies of climate resilience, legacies of colonialism, and futures of urban living.
Lily’s work has been exhibited internationally and supported by the American Institute of Architects (USA), Art Omi Residency (USA), Bauhaus Dessau Foundation (Germany), Columbia University (USA), Dumbarton Oaks (USA), Harry der Boghosian Fellowship at Syracuse University (USA), International Architecture Biennale of São Paulo (Brazil), Kohn Pedersen Fox Traveling Fellowship (USA), Lisbon Architecture Triennale (Portugal), and New Inc at the New Museum (USA). She received the World Architecture Festival 40 Under 40 Award in 2025 and the University of Miami Social Justice Prize in 2024.
Lily joined the faculty at the University of Miami School of Architecture in spring 2024, after teaching at Columbia University and Syracuse University, where she was the 2022-23 Harry der Boghosian Fellow. Prior to academia, she practiced as a project architect with the firm Weiss/ Manfredi on cultural and institutional buildings. She received a Master of Architecture from Columbia University GSAPP, Bachelor of Fine Arts from Parsons School of Design, and Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the New School.
