Penny Unni is a Canadian researcher, designer, and educator. Her work investigates the spatial politics of infrastructure amid ecological degradation, using representation and narrative as instruments for engaging the entanglement of form with mythmaking, environmental and social systems.

Penny earned a graduate degree from McGill University where she was awarded the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada Medal for Outstanding Thesis and Arthur Erickson Scholarship from the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts and and holds a Bachelors of Architectural Studies with Distinction from the University of Waterloo. She has worked in the offices of Niall McLaughlin Architects, Moshe Safdie Architects, Powerhouse Company and Architecture Plus Information.

Recently her work has been published in Materia Arquitectura and received an independent research grant from the Graham Foundation. Previously she has taught design studio at Ithaca College.
