Ana Paula Ruiz Galindo

Ana Paula Ruiz Galindo is the co-founder of Pedro&Juana, a studio based in Mexico City, founded by Ruiz Galindo and Mecky Reuss, that works on a variety of projects across various creative disciplines. Exploring the capacity of objects to change their environment through typological transgressions, the indiscriminate use of material, texture, color, placement, and/or form. Their projects assemble new and unexpected relationships with those who encounter them. The situations developing out of these approaches can take place in the form of a domestic interior; a table turn bench turn table; a better conversation through cooking a pig; a wooden pavilion in a gallery—the first of many wooden structures they are developing as proof of the versatility of wood and its potential to replace more energy consuming materials in construction in a cement heavy country.
