Janet Liu is an architectural designer, researcher, and interdisciplinary cultural practitioner working across architecture, landscape, public space, and cultural programming. Through design, research, installation, curatorial work, and community-based projects, she explores how spatial practice can engage cultural rituals, temporary environments, and public life.
She is the co-founder of Assembly Liu Liao, a spatially driven interdisciplinary practice working between Taiwan and New York City. ALL examines the relationship between architecture, everyday life, collective experience, and public space, with particular attention to how spatial practices can create new forms of gathering, participation, and shared experience.
Liu holds a Master in Landscape Architecture from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design and a Bachelor of Architecture from the Illinois Institute of Technology. She has previously taught architectural design studio and Body Theatre at National Cheng Kung University.
