Kim, Il Hwan is a designer and researcher focusing on informality and uncertainty in architecture, particularly construction. His areas of interest include material-based design, digital fabrication, and the relationship between labor and technology. He has taught at Cornell University and gained research and professional experience from MIT’s Self-Assembly Lab, Link Arkitektur in Oslo, Kjellander Sjöberg Arkitektkontor in Stockholm, and BIG in New York City. Kim earned his Master of Science in Architecture Studies from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
