Alexis joined the Thomas Boyde, Jr. Historic Resource Survey project as a research assistant in October 2020. She graduated from the State University of New York College at Geneseo in May 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts in History and minors in Anthropology and American Studies.
Alexis’ favorite History topic is the Civil War/Emancipation/Reconstruction eras and has been to Gettysburg four times. She believes History can be useful for all sorts of jobs, as it shows one’s ability to pay attention to detail, a knack for research, and more often than not, stellar writing skills. It can also hint at the potential to be a good group participant/team player/leader as research frequently requires working with others towards a common goal.
Alexis is from the Syracuse area, having grown up about 30 minutes away, in Weedsport. Although originally a Central New Yorker, Alexis recently moved to Buffalo. Her favorite football team, however, is the Green Bay Packers. Another fun fact about her is that Alexis also loves bears … so much that she has a tattoo of bear paws on the back of her shoulder.
