Play Futures
Play Futures is a multi-day workshop that explores play in the city - examining urban space making for all. New York city offers an incredible array of existing conditions for how we can consider play in the city. A stoop is a theatre mezzanine, a sidewalk is a game board, a sign post is a gallery, and the street is a ball field. Neighborhoods and the urban fabric provide the raw materials for the city at play. How can we create moments of delight, encounter and discovery in the city while meeting diverse needs? This workshop will include tours and visits to unconventional sites of play and will culminate in a co-design session of assemblies and drawings that propose new urban interventions for play.
