Ju Bin studied at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing and since founding Horizontal Design in 2003 has received considerable recognition for his architecture and design projects. He was named one of the ten most important emerging designers in China in 2015 and in 2017 was selected as GQ Designer of the Year. He has been recognized numerous times as the Most Influential Designer in China, and in 2020 was named the Tatler Cultural Figure of the Year.
Ju Bin’s work has been published extensively and exhibited at the Venice Biennale, Milan Design Week, and at the Shenzhen/Hong Kong Urbanism and Architecture Bi-City Biennale.
Ju Bin serves as graduate advisor at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing; Tsinghua University Academy of Fine Arts; and the Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts. He was a visiting critic at the Politecnico di Milano in 2020.
Ju Bin is also the founder and a council member of the C-Foundation, a public nonprofit organization committed to promoting design education.
