Architecture After Building
How do we take stock of the cultural and environmental footprints of the building industry? What alternative forms of design expertise do we need to navigate the material remnants of the twentieth century? What is the agency of the architect within a degrowth economy? This lecture examines these questions through a set of design projects and material investigations that question how an ethos of care, repair, and reuse can give rise to new narrative frameworks, representational methods, and cultures of making that reconsider our relationships to the material world and the systems that sustain them.
