Alejandro Restrepo-Montoya is an architect, having graduated with honors from the Faculty of Architecture of Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana (UPB) in Medellin, Colombia, in 1995. He has a Master in Business Management for Architecture from Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana and is currently a Doctoral Candidate in Engineering and Architecture at Technische Universität München TUM in Germany and Research Ambassador of the German Academic Exchange Service DAAD in Colombia. His architectural and urban planning offices have been located in Medellín since 1996 and he has carried out numerous projects on different scales in Colombia, Mexico and Panama. He is currently Director of Urban Projects for the city of Medellín and Professor at Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana in Medellín. He has been a Lecturer at Technische Universität München TUM since 2011, as well as Guest Lecturer in the ETH in Zurich, Switzerland, and in the University of Passau in Germany. He is a researcher in the areas of urban planning, architecture, construction techniques and sustainability. He has been the advisor in urban developments in different cities in Latin America, and he has received numerous international and national awards in recognition of his architectural work, in addition to being a guest speaker in Germany, Switzerland, Mexico, Peru and Venezuela.
