Zachary Matthews is the senior designer at Curious Minds Los Angeles (CMLA), a design studio led by Erin Cuevas and Jana Masset Collatz.
CMLA’s work explores the relationship between the human body, digital media, and the built environment. While rooted in architectural practice, their work extends across disciplines and scales including scenography, brand identity, and product design. Inspired by neuroaesthetics, the studio explores the psychological and behavioral impacts of our media-rich world. CMLA’s name embodies the studio’s vision to bring the subjects of our curiosities - nature, science, performance art, materiality, animation, and storytelling - into tangible design realities that provoke thought and emotion. The studio collaborates with clients and brands while also producing self-directed projects and research.
Prior to joining CMLA, Matthews was the Lead Experience Designer at Nike Inc. He holds a Master’s in Architecture from the Harvard Graduate School of Design and a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Southern California.
