Dr. Tarek Rakha is an academic entrepreneur. He is co-founder and CEO of Lamarr.AI, a startup transforming how buildings are retrofitted through AI-driven diagnostics and design intelligence. Named a Regent’s Innovator, he is currently on leave from his role as Associate Professor of Architecture and Director of the High Performance Building Lab at Georgia Tech. Rakha’s work in building technology, urban energy sensing, and climate resilience has secured over $7M in funding from the U.S. Department of Energy, the NSF, and major industry partners, and has produced more than 70 peer-reviewed publications. He holds a Ph.D. in Building Technology from MIT and was recognized with the Emerging Contributor Award from IBPSA-USA.
