Enclosures

Enclosures is a lecture on the architecture of the perimeter. Ideally conceived as a commentary to an editorial written by Vittorio Gregotti in 1979, it aims to contribute a catalogue of possibilities generated by the fundamental act of delimitation. It will include projects produced by my office - Salottobuono - between 2010 and 2025, as well as academic work and a recent exhibition. A possible taxonomy across different scales and levels of complexity, from elementary objects to urban interventions, will unfold through plans, axonometric drawings and photographic images of the built artifacts. The project will be explored as selective device, producing certain conditions of inclusion and exclusion, creating and erasing connections, sustaining acts of separation and suspension, enabling detachment and otherness.
