Fugitive Songs
Fugitive Songs unfolds Black cosmologies and reflect on Black feminists’ flights’ from transparency, captivity, constraint and the creative practices of refusal that seek to undermine domination as a radical space-making practice. Songs are fugitive mediums that carry knowledge and generate space. Thinking through songs and sound invites a reflection of creative practice and forms for mediating Black feminist abolitionist knowledge, acts of refuge, and refusal.
This event is co-hosted with Villa Romana as part of the ‘Insisting Otherwise’ event series.
