Lucy Navarro is a designer, educator, and researcher whose work examines relationships between architecture, infrastructure, ecology, and collective life. She is an Instructor at Syracuse University’s School of Architecture and an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Columbia University GSAPP, where she has taught architecture since 2023.
Prior to focusing on teaching and research, Navarro practiced at Selldorf Architects in New York, working across cultural, institutional, residential, civic, and exhibition projects through multiple phases of design and construction.
In 2025, she received the Stewardson Keefe LeBrun Travel Grant from AIA New York for research examining architecture, ecology, infrastructure, and cultural development across Japan’s Seto Inland Sea. Her current work extends this research through Island Systems: Seto Inland Sea, an interactive digital atlas mapping how ferries, labor, and infrastructure sustain cultural architecture on Naoshima, Teshima, and Inujima.
Navarro holds a Master of Architecture from Columbia University GSAPP and a B.S. in Design and B.A. in Art History from Arizona State University.
