Catalina Briones & Pablo Rojas Böttner

Catalina Briones and Pablo Rojas Böttner are architects who founded the independent publishing house primapress, an editorial project oriented toward expanding the contents, formats, and modes of circulation of contemporary architecture through a curatorial and critical approach.

Their work has received several awards, including the WRAP Funding spring 2025, granted jointly with Edgar Rodríguez for the book Vernacular Form, and the Regional FONDART Grant from the Chilean Ministry of Cultures, Arts, and Heritage for the publication PRIMA.

To date, they have edited more than 15 publications. These include PRIMA, a series dedicated to representation; CASA, a series focused on construction processes and the articulation of building logics; and PLANS, a series that positions the architectural plan as a disciplinary device.

Catalina and Pablo are currently developing several editorial projects, including LIMA, in collaboration with photographer Cristóbal Palma; Mesa Cachalote, which documents the fabrication process of the table produced for the Chilean Constitutional Convention by architects Matías Zegers and Alejandro Lüer; and a book compiling the five issues of the PRIMA series, bringing together 120 drawings by 24 Chilean architectural offices.

They have delivered lectures and conducted workshops on publications and architecture at several universities across Chile, including the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, Universidad Andrés Bello, Universidad Gabriela Mistral, and Universidad de Talca. They are currently faculty members at the University of Chile and Universidad Mayor.

Catalina and Pablo both graduated with highest honors from the University of Chile. Pablo completed a Master’s degree in Architecture at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile (2018), while Catalina holds a Diploma in Book Arts from the National University of the Arts in Argentina (2024).
