Future Queens, Live Podcast & Public Discussion

Identity, Architecture & Accountable Anti-Racist Development

A live podcast with

“At Sunnyside Yards, we envision a plan that incorporates what diverse and dynamic neighborhoods need.” Invoking a vision of new development suspended over a rail yard, NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio’s 2015 State of the City Address extends a hundred-year tradition of projecting future living environments in this place. You are invited to a live podcast and public discussion on the demographic details behind the “most diverse urban area in the world,” how these identities manifest in the borough’s architecture, and how we might design for a future neighborhood beyond white supremacy and towards accountable development. Held in conjunction with Decks on Decks, the 2018 Syracuse NYC Architecture summer studio and seminar taught by Hector partners Jae Shin and Damon Rich.

Light refreshments will be provided.

Seats are limited, please RSVP.
