GREEN CYBORG
The term was coined by Mike Waters, defined as an ecological elaboration of "incorporating artificial organs, drugs and/or hypothermia as integral parts of the life support systems" of spaceships, mostly as an enclosed system. It was different from the understanding from the Cyborg Manifesto by Haraway, a cyborg is a cybernetic organism, a hybrid of machine and organism, a creature of social reality as well as a creature of fiction. It was based on the theory of McHale that human being as "an energy-converting organism" malfunctioning within the closed ecological system of the earth and thus causing a series of environmental ills. The conclusion was Spaceship Earth was out of balance in comparison with the ideal ecosystem within the space cabin.1Then the object concept of cyborg was to an "ecological redesign" of the household of nature through new "ecological housekeeping rules" overseen by specialists at the United Nations.
