Ecocatastrophe
Ecocatastrophe(n.) : a major destructive upset in the balance of nature especially when caused by the action of humans.1 Ecosystem changes due to climate change is a global problem. In particular, it is more serious in developing countries with the DNA roots of compressed development growth. The counterattack of nature called "unusual weather" has been started. Development advocates call this 'natural disasters', but science continues to provide evidence that this is man-made disaster. Decrease of the diversity of species is a leading environmental problem with global warming. Reduction of species is directly related to the results of the degradation of ecosystem stability. This is because all species perform the respective functions as important components of global ecosystem. The material circulation and delivery of the energy are important functions in terrestrial ecosystems where all species perform, and the stability of ecosystems is maintained through them. So far, it is known that 300 kinds of wild plants in the UK and the 1/4 kinds in the world are destined to disappear by 2050.2 The cause is certainly the destruction of habitat due to urbanization, environmental pollution, and so on. Eden Project is planned for this situation in the background and is run by the ‘Kew Garden' a Royal Botanic Garden, and it was planned as pristine place on earth for maximum plant diversity. The inauguration ceremony of Eden greenhouse, a modern version of ’Noah’s Ark’ was led by Prince Charles, and it will collect the seeds of 24,000 plant species, which correspond to one tenth of all the flora of the world, which is the world’s largest.3
