Sharóne Tomer

Sharóne Tomer is an Assistant Professor in the School of Architecture + Design at Virginia Tech, where she teaches design and urbanism courses. She has also practiced architecture in the San Francisco Bay Area, focusing on community housing. Sharóne researches and writes about architecture as it addresses and emerges out of instances of urban injustice. Her research investigates sites ranging from Cape Town (South Africa) to American Appalachia.

She received a Ph.D. in the History and Theory of Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley.
