The program focuses on energy and the built environment with research + design projects ranging across many scales, from urban design to high performance buildings, from VR and computational simulation to building material research and product design, and across a range of disciplinary and practice areas.

CI Village TY 3.0CI Village TY 3.0 includes two research and design studios catalog that features the work of BArch, MArch and MS in Architecture students from Spring 2017 on Nantou urban village in Shenzhen, China, taught by Yan Meng (Urbanus), Yijun Yin, Fei Wang and Michael Speaks. The content is featured in Shenzhen Urbanism and Architecture Biennale 2017.

 

 

Xiong'an 1.0Xiong’an 1.0 is year-long research and design studio catalog that features the work of MS in Architecture students from Fall 2017 and Undergraduate students from Spring 2018. The two studios worked within the MS in Architecture core research agenda—Design | Energy | Futures—to develop urban design proposals as well as post-industrial regeneration proposals for Xiong’an, a newly planned, non-capital functioned city. The book and research are sponsored by the Shenzhen Institute.

The studio and thesis worked within the M.S. in Architecture core research agenda—Design | Energy | Futures—on Baiyangdian Wetland, the largest wetland in Northern China in Xiong’an, a newly planned, non-capital functioned city. The book and research are sponsored by the Shenzhen Institute.
