Cognitive Awareness exhibition opening

School of Architecture students PIN Parinda Sangkaeo ’22 and Benson Joseph ’20 present the exhibit, Cognitive Awareness, on display in Slocum Hall’s Marble Room from November 12 to December 13, 2019.

Architecture is not limited to the design of tangible, three-dimensional objects in space. Nor does it reside solely in environments conceived for sentient beings and dwellers in cyberspace. This exhibition chooses to demonstrate that constructive components, such as the column, and mutable functional programs—along with their representations in models and drawings—are not the only vectors producing architecture. Instead, this exhibition claims that architecture exists in the pure staging of light as it constructs both cognitive subjects and multivalent objects.
