Alton Chow is Vice President of Buildings + Places for Greater China at AECOM and focuses on strategic development for the firm’s integrated services which encompass architecture, building engineering, planning, economics, project and construction management, and cost consultancy.

Aligned with market sectors, Buildings + Places provides an integrated services framework that offers to clients a holistic approach to the built environment.  Leading and operating in the primary market sectors of Commercial, Healthcare, Leisure + Culture, Hospitality, Sports, Government, and Education, the group works closely with other disciplines such as Transportation, Water and Urban Development, Environment, Industrial, and Energy to deliver premier services.

Mr. Chow is a licensed US Architect with over 18 years of experience in both architecture and interior design and has built a reputation in the industry by implementing innovative and strategic designs and ideas. Having worked in China for over 11 years, he has in-depth knowledge on designing and executing high quality projects and developments in a variety of typologies. With his ability to provide oversight and leadership on both external and internal issues, Mr. Chow provides a holistic approach to design and management that ensures a cohesive execution for growth and leadership.

Prior to entering AECOM, Mr. Chow was Studio Chairman for Woods Bagot in charge of the management and operations of the Shanghai Practice, Design Practice Stream Leader for Asia, and a member of the Regional Executive Committee. At Gensler, he was Studio Director and Practice Area Leader for Hospitality, Sports + Entertainment, and Transportation. At Wilson Associates, Mr. Chow was Managing Director of the Shanghai Practice and in charge of all projects and development in China.
