SPORTS wins two 2018 International Architecture Awards

Syracuse, NY-based architecture and design collaborative wins two 2018 International Architecture Awards from Architecture Podium.

SPORTS, an award-winning multidisciplinary architecture and design collaborative of Syracuse Architecture Assistant Professors Molly Hunker and Greg Corso has won two 2018 International Architecture Awards from Architecture Podium.

Runaway has received a “First Award” in the Pop-Up and Temporary Built Category, and Rounds received a “Third Award” in the same category.

The work of SPORTS aims to reconcile the intelligence and sensibilities dormant in the crafty, cute and commonplace with that of the high-tech, couture and complex. Since forming in 2010, SPORTS has designed and constructed a number of large-scale architectural installations and pavilions around the country and they have been exhibited, reviewed, and published widely.

The 2018 International Architecture Awards are given to projects showcasing excellence and innovation in architecture & design. This year 586 projects were registered from more than 40 countries, spanning architecture, landscape architecture, urban design, product design and interior design categories. Winners in all categories are selected by an international panel of jurors.
