Mick McConnell
R/GA, Creative Director

Mick McConnell is a multi-disciplinary architect, retail sesign leader, digital director and educator, with management experience in corporate retail management, architecture, environmental graphics, brand strategy, interactive design, digital strategy, graphic design, teaching and advertising. Active in education as visiting professor, critic and lecturer, McConnell co-taught at Syracuse in 2010 and 2011 for Danny Forster’s studio. An award-winning author of LAX, The Los Angeles Experiment, McConnell has worked with leading corporations, architects, agencies, and design firms both in-house and as a consultant. Known in circles as the expert that can find the right people to get things done, McConnell’s experience in complex systems and projects has led to new and exciting solutions for architects, online experiences, and product design.

Jing Liu
Solid Objectives, Idenburg Liu (SO - IL)
Jing Liu is principal of Solid Objectives - Idenburg Liu (SO - IL). A native of China, she received her education in China, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States, concluding with a Master of Architecture from Tulane University School of Architecture in New Orleans. Prior to founding SO - IL, Liu worked at New York based Kohn Pedersen Fox and Starwood. SO-IL is an idea driven design office founded by Florian Idenburg and Jing Liu in 2008. With a global reach, it brings together extensive experience from the fields of architecture, academia and the arts. A creative catalyst involved in all scales and stages of the architectural process, SO-IL approaches projects with an intellectual and artistic rigor fueled by a strong commitment to realizing their ideas in the world. The firm has worked on an array of projects ranging in scale from the master plan of a cultural campus in Shanghai, China to a series of prints for the Guggenheim Museum. Recent projects include a temporary classroom for the Whitney Museum, student housing in Athens, Greece, a park pavilion in Amsterdam, the Netherlands and a community center on the Belgian coast.The work has received numerous awards, including the MoMAPS1 Young Architects Program and the AIA Young Practices Award. The work of SO-IL has been prominently published and exhibited internationally.

Susannah Drake,

Susannah C. Drake is the principal of dlandstudio llc, an award-winning multidisciplinary design firm that includes landscape architects, urban designers, sculptors, scientists and architects. The firm’s recent public projects include ‘A New Urban Ground’designed in collaboration with ARO for the Museum of Modern Art’s Rising Currents Exhibit, the Gowanus Canal Sponge Park,’ a public open space system designed to absorb and remediate urban storm water, the BQE Williamsburg a project developing strategies to add more open space and mitigate the noise and air pollution, the Brooklyn Bridge Pop-up Park, a temporary waterfront open space that attracted almost two hundred thousand visitors over six weeks of operation in 2008, and the security for the New York City Police Department headquarters in lower Manhattan. Drake received a Bachelors of Arts Degree from Dartmouth College and MArch and MLA degrees from the Harvard Graduate School of Design. She is a registered landscape architect and a registered architect

Richard Gluckman G’71,
Gluckman Mayner Architects
Richard Gluckman, FAIA, is a principal of Gluckman Mayner Architects, based in New York City. Gluckman has closely aligned his work with the world of art and design, creating distinctive spaces for numerous art galleries and museums. Notable projects include the Museo Picasso Malaga, Malaga, Spain (2004); Mori Arts Center, Tokyo, Japan (2003); the renovation of the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, NY (1995-1998); The Andy Warhol Museum, Pittsburgh, PA (1994); and Dia Center for the Arts, New York, NY (1987). Gluckman has been a visiting critic and lecturer at universities including Harvard, Columbia, and Syracuse. He is chair of the Advisory Board of the Syracuse University School of Architecture. Recent awards include the National Design Award, an AIA National Honor Award, two Merit Awards from the AIA NYC, and the Arents Award from Syracuse University.

Gregg Pasquarelli,
SHoP Architects, NYC
Gregg Pasquarelli is co-founder of SHoP Architects, NYC. He has lectured, exhibited, and been published internationally. Winner of the 2009 National Design Award for Architecture (Smithsonian, Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum), SHoP’s recent projects include NYC’s South St. Seaport Redevelopment, two shopping and office complexes in Beijing, and a new campus for Google in Mountain View, CA.

Joshua Prince-Ramus
REX, NYC
Joshua Prince-Ramus is President of REX and principal in Charge of all projects. Previously he was a founding partner of OMA New York and served as its principal until he renamed the firm REX in 2006. Prince-Ramus was recently described as the ‘savior of American architecture’ by Esquire magazine in its December 2008 ‘Genius Issue’ and identified as one of ‘The 20 Essential Young Architects’ by ICON magazine in April 2008. Buildings currently under construction include the Dallas Center for the Performing Arts Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre in Texas; Museum Plaza, a 62-story art institute and mixed-use development in Louisville, Kentucky; and the Istanbul headquarters for Vakko. REX won the international competition to design the new central library for Kortrijk, Belgium and is one of three finalists in the international competition for the new Edvard Munch Museum in Oslo, Norway.

Marc Tsurumaki
Lewis.Tsurumaki.Lewis (LTL), NYC
Marc Tsurumaki is co-founder of Lewis.Tsurumaki.Lewis (LTL) of NYC along with Paul Lewis and David L. Lewis. LTL received the 2007 Cooper-Hewitt National Design Award for Interior Architecture and the 2007 James Beard Award for Best Restaurant Design. The firm’s work is part of several museum collections and has been exhibited widely. Tsurumaki has been a Trustee of Van Alen Institute since 2002.

Craig Dykers
SNOHETTA, NYC and Oslo, Norway
Craig Dykers is a founding partner of SNOHETTA, and has been involved in the design and construction of several major projects in the Middle East, Europe, and the US including the new library in Alexandria, Egypt, the new National Opera House in Oslo, Norway and most recently the National September 11 Memorial Museum Pavilion in NYC. Craig resides in both Oslo and in NYC.
