The program is currently open to students outside the Syracuse School of Architecture who have completed at least four semesters of architectural design studios at a professional degree-granting institution.

Applicants to the Syracuse University New York City Program must have satisfactory completion of a minimum of four semesters of architectural design studio from an accredited/degree granting school of architecture.

See .PDF application attached, below left.

Personal Statement of Purpose

Please submit a (200-word maximum) statement regarding your intentions to study in New York City. Describe your background, your educational experience thus far, and your future plans — after having received your degree.

Letters of Recommendation

Please include a minimum of two letters of recommendation. These letters are most helpful if written from professors with whom you have studied design.

Submit a 12 - 20 page portfolio (not to exceed 9” x 12”) consisting of previous architectural studio work. Applicants should not include original artwork. All items should indicate the approximate date of production and whether the work was a result of coursework, professional or freelance activities, or collaboration. Please do not send portfolios on slides or discs.

Portfolio will be returned only if the applicant provides postage in advance, or preferably submits a stamped, self-addressed envelope. All information submitted should include the applicant’s name and date of birth.
