Emily C.S. Pellicano (she/her) joins the Syracuse University School of Architecture as an assistant teaching professor in fall 2021. At Syracuse University, Emily will teach classes in Digital Media and Architectural Design.

Prior to joining Syracuse University, Emily was a tenure track assistant professor at Marywood University from 2016-21 where she taught architecture and interior design studios as well as a range of representation and visual culture courses. Prior to Marywood University, she taught as a visiting assistant professor at Syracuse University and as assistant professor at Hobart and William Smith College.

Emily’s research focuses on the emerging role of machine learning in representation and perception in the architectural disciplines. She has recently published, “Psychedelic Strategies; Alternative Phenomenologies, Translations and Representations of the Human Body in Relation to Interior Space”, in the Journal Of Interior Design in 2021

Emily earned a M.S., Synthetic Landscapes in 2021 from the Southern California Institute of Architecture, and an M.Arch from the Syracuse University School of Architecture in 2004.
