Shawn Amsler is the founder and principal of Amsler Advisors, a real estate advisory firm based in New York City. He has over 20 years experience in real estate investment and ground-up development with such firms as Kor Realty Group and Turner Construction Company. Additionally, he has advised Latin American family offices on U.S. real estate investments, and raised institutional capital for private equity real estate funds in the United States and Canada. His projects have included the Four Seasons Anguilla Resort in the British West Indies, and the Castello di Casole Hotel in Tuscany, Italy, which was recognized in 2017 by Travel+Leisure as the Best Resort Hotel in Europe.
In addition to working at Syracuse University, Shawn also serves on the adjunct faculty of New York University and Columbia University, where he has taught courses on development and international real estate investment, and has led five real estate study tours to Brazil. In 2014, his article on the real estate impacts of New York’s High Line park was published in the book Cidades em Transformação (Cities in Transformation). He holds a Master’s Degree in Real Estate Development from Columbia University, as well as a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering Degree from the Pennsylvania State University.
