Lindsey Wilkstrom

Lindsey Wikstrom (she/her/hers) joins Syracuse Architecture to teach a Winterlude course. Wikstrom is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Columbia GSAPP and has also taught at Cornell AAP. Her research focuses on the future materiality in the built environment, specifically renewable and reclaimed materials. Wikstrom is the recipient of the SOM Prize, the Charles McKim Prize for Excellent in Design, Visualization Award, and Avery 6 Award. Her research has been published in Embodied Energy and Design: Making Architecture between Metrics and Narratives, Broken Nature: Design Takes on Human Survival, Faktur, Cite, e-flux, Urban Omnibus, and others. In 2022, her Advanced IV M.Arch studio Fringe Timber received an honorable mention for the ASCA Timber Education Prize, and was the foundation to her book: Designing the Forest and Other Mass Timber Futures. She holds an M.Arch from Columbia University.
