Travel arrangements

Syracuse is accessible by air, rail, bus, and car. Hancock International Airport (SYR) serves many major destinations.

The Regional Transportation Center (RTC) also offers service by Amtrak, Greyhound, Trailways and MegaBus as well as local bus service, Centro. SU is approximately a 10-15 minute cab ride from either the airport or the RTC.

The only cab company running from the Syracuse Hancock International Airport is Syracuse Regional Taxi at a fixed price of $30 from the airport to Syracuse University.

Lyft and Uber are now available in Syracuse!

Planning for the Weather

March is technically spring, but Syracuse can be subjected to unseasonable weather this time of year. We may experience an late winter snowfall or colder temperatures than usual. Our best advice is to prepare for anything. Check the forecast ahead of time (weather.com or local TV stations, localsyr.com or CNY Central) and dress in layers.
