Transfer Students

If you are a transfer student, we will register you for the core courses ARC 107, ARC 141, and ARC 181 unless Advanced Standing has already been established. After transfer credit evaluation meetings are completed upon your arrival, you will be able to adjust your schedule accordingly. Please plan to attend the Transfer Student Academic Advising is available on Saturday, August 29 from 10am-11am in room 201 Slocum Hall.

SummerStart at SU

SummerStart at Syracuse University is designed to ensure a smooth transition from high school to college. This six-week program, June 30 - August 8, can familiarize you with the academic, social, and cultural life at Syracuse, AND give you an opportunity to jump start your degree program by earning seven (7) credits, including beginning-level writing and math course work.

Writing and Math Requirement

To lessen your first year credit load you may choose to take a course(s) at a college near your home. If you choose to do this, we recommend you take a course that will fulfill a writing and/or math requirement. Here is more info about our writing and math requirements and transferring credit to Syracuse University. Before taking any classes, you must submit a Transfer Course Petition to the related SU department to receive official approval.

What’s next

We will receive AP scores in July and be posting transfer credits through August on MySlice. If you have not already done so, please have your AP scores sent electronically to SU. Your class schedule will be accessible on MySlice after August 20.
