Maya Alam

Maya Alam is a German born architect and designer. She holds the title of Dipl. Ing. of Interior Architecture from the Peter Behrens School of Architecture in Düsseldorf and a Master of Architecture with Distinction from the Southern California Institute of Architecture.

She has previously taught at SciARC and worked in Germany, India, Switzerland, China, Italy and the United States. She has also worked with P-A-T-T-E-R-N-S, NMDA, UNStudio and Studio Fuksas.

Maya was awarded the AIA Henry Adams Certificate and a Selected Best Thesis Award at SciArc. Her work deals with issues of the incoherent figure and defamiliarization through principles of Gestalt.

Maya Alam was the inaugural der Boghosian Fellow at Syracuse Architecture 2017-18.
