Peter I. Weingarten AIA LEED AP, is the director of Gensler’s architectural practice for the Northwest region, as well as leader of the firm’s commercial office buildings practice. Weingarten has worked on a variety of buildings types including, large scale, mixed use developments, headquarters and towers; government and education facilities; hotels; residential buildings; and master plans. He focuses on delivering inspirational architecture with enhanced building intelligence, fiscal performance, and end-user satisfaction. A native New Yorker living in San Francisco, Peter thrives on dialogue, and through his extroverted personality is constantly studying the human condition and how society ticks. His practice as a leader in the development of cities and their architecture allows him to passionately pursue sustainability, urbanity, and the evolution of how people live, work, and play. A sustainability and community enthusiast, Peter served on the USGBC NY Chapter Board of Directors and the USGBC Northeast Regional Council. He currently serves on the Building Design + Construction Editorial Review Board, is the co-representative for San Francisco for the Council on Tall Buildings & Urban Habitats, and is on the board of directors of Junior Achievement in Northern California.
