Bruce S. Fowle (Emeritus)
Principal, FXFOWLE ARCHITECTS, PC

B. Arch., Syracuse University, 1960

Architect Bruce Fowle co-founded FXFOWLE ARCHITECTS, PC in 1978 on the philosophical basis that architecture must be conscious and respectful of context and utility while enriching the human experience. Since that time, he has guided his firm to international recognition for excellence in design and environmental responsibility. His work has earned the firm major awards, including a 2001 AIA National Honor Award for Design for the Conde Nast Building. His current work includes the New York Times building, a new School of Management at Syracuse University, the preliminary design for Manhattan’s new Second Avenue Subway, and the expansion of the Jacob Javits Convention Center. Fowle helped create and mobilize New York New Visions, a coalition of organizations helping shape the planning and design response to the destruction of the World Trade Center.
