Stick around after the workshop to continue the conversation with ONE planner, Lindsay Woodson ’13 for an open dialogue about the value of design in multidisciplinary fields.

Travis Bunt is the Director of One Architecture & Urbanism (ONE) in New York, heading urban planning and resiliency for the firm across the Americas and Asia. With his multidisciplinary background spanning infrastructure planning, real estate development, and urban design, Mr. Bunt has led a series of climate adaptation projects for ONE, highlighted by district-level development of projects in New York and Boston, including the winning BIG U proposal for the 2014 Rebuild By Design competition and two resultant projects, the East Side Coastal Resiliency (ESCR) project and the Lower Manhattan Coastal Resiliency (LMCR) project, as well as Climate Ready Boston initiatives in Charlestown and East Boston. Recently, Mr. Bunt has been leveraging this expertise to organize signature “Building With Nature” ventures in typhoon-prone areas in the Philippines and Indonesia.

Prior to joining ONE, Mr. Bunt was the Design Director for URBANUS in Hong Kong, where he led the design and planning for large scale urban re-developments across China. In 2014, he was recognized by Perspective Magazine with a 40 under 40 award as a “Rising Star” in the architecture and design industries, in part for his role curating the Hong Kong edition of the 2013-14 Bi-City Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism. As a former officer in the US Navy’s Civil Engineer Corps, Mr. Bunt has worked on military-led reconstruction efforts in post-Katrina New Orleans, served as the Regional Engineer for Northern Afghanistan, and oversaw a multi-year overhaul of the port facilities at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

Lindsay Woodson is an Urban Planner in the New York office of One Architecture, supporting urban design and resiliency projects for the firm in North America and the Philippines. Ms Woodson’s particular interests involve environmental and social equity planning. With dedicated commitment in working for vulnerable populations, her work focuses on analyzing geospatial data and unpacking the patterns and causes of urban risks at varying scales - from chronic poverty to acute flood impacts. As a Cleveland, Ohio native, a natural trajectory guided her academic and professional agenda to develop a strong affinity with post-industrial landscapes rooted in waterfront dependency.
Prior to joining One, Ms Woodson spent time in city, state, and federal government supporting her belief that designers should have a seat at the policy table. Ms Woodson completed a dual degree in Master of Design in Risk & Resilience and Master of Urban Planning at Harvard Graduate School of Design. She earned her Bachelors of Architecture with a minor in Geography from Syracuse University School of Architecture.
