The Possible Mediums project is a series of events showcasing design investigations based in speculative architectural mediums. Over the past two years, the project’s four founders have organized conferences, exhibitions, and workshops at schools across the Midwest with an aim to invigorate design pedagogy by highlighting the ways in which young architects are expanding and adapting the conventional mediums of architecture. The exhibition at the Syracuse University Fisher Center will feature text and drawings from the latest phase of the Possible Mediums project: a forthcoming book. The symposium will be comprised of presentations and discussion regarding the ambitions of the project in relation to the current state of the discipline, the theme of Syracuse Architecture’s Fall 2014 events organized by Dean Michael Speaks.
