The Werner Seligmann Papers constitute the substantive architectural work of Werner Seligmann. It includes work produced within the office of Werner Seligmann and Associates, Architects and Urban Designers, in Cortland NY and various competitions which were sometimes produced within the office but were often done with the assistance of colleagues and students.

The collection currently includes some 220 panels or boards of mounted photographs and drawings, 90 boxes of photographs, approximately 4000 slides and over 200 tubes of drawings. It also includes various publications by or about Seligmann and his work. The collection does not include material related to his teaching, his personal notes, his personal library or personal slides.

The collection is the gift of Mrs. Jean Seligmann, made in 1999, and is housed in the Syracuse University Special Collections, headquartered in Bird Library. It is currently being curated by Professor Bruce Coleman with the assistance of Debra Olson. The inventorying process is expected to be completed by summer, 2001, after which the collection will be available to the public. Requests for information regarding the collection should be directed to Bruce Coleman.
