Rendering
Notes by Allen Williams:

4/17/02

¨      The completed rendered image exists in VRAM.  It is displayed as a bitmap, a 2D representation of the model.

¨      To save the completed rendering,

  • select save as, under the file menu.

  • Chose the desired file format (ex. .tif, .jpg).

  • Make sure to save the file to the correct location on secondary memory.

¨      Modeling stairs.

o       Note:  it is up to the user to follow all applicatable codes regarding stair construction.

o       The creation of stairs is another example of  parametric derivative.

§          There are several types of stair which can be created, such as solid stair, beam stair (stringers), and several ramp options.

§          The user can control several options, such as the width of the stair, the total height of the flight of stairs, the number of landings per flight, and the stringer height, to name a few.

§          The user can invoke a warning if local codes concerning stairs are broken, however the user must input the necessary values setting up these limits.

§          The user can also activate values controlling the formation of railings.
